"your eyes are deep pools that are the color of $hit."

that quote is from Jacob. And this blog is on eye color. Hazel, blue, green, brown, amber, violet, and red are colors that appear in the eyes. Sometimes one eye can be one color and the other can be another color. It is really interesting. How come all our eyes arn't the same color? I don't know the answer to that question but do know that your eye color is polygenic. You inherit your eye color from your parents. The amount of pigments in your iris determines the color. "Three main elements within the iris contribute to its color: the melanin content of the iris pigment epithelium, the melanin content within the iris stroma, and the cellular density of the iris stroma."-Wikipedia. That doesn't really explain it to me entirely. I think having color in your eye is really interesting.

More.... color...

My hair. Green. I wanted it green because I needed a change in my life. I was bored with my hair at the time, not that I worry about how I look. Recently I had just purchased a bike that is green, and I guess I kind of wanted to match it. I don't even know if that wa the reason, but what I did know is that I wanted something different.

People usually just have brown, blond, or black hair. If they enjoy that thats fine but there are a lot of people who don't like their normal hair color so they change it. Sometimes it is more drastic other times it is more subtle. I chose the color green I think because it is my favorite color. I like the color green. Its neat. When you have hair that is green like mine was you get a lot of comments about lepricons and St. Patricks Day. I think because it was march. The color invoked ideas and emotions into people. I think that was cool.

I like the idea that my hair would turn heads. I'm sure that if my hair wasn't BRIGHT green then I wouldn't have gotten as many looks. Some people don't bleach their hair before they dye it and the coor is never as bright. The bleach burns though.

Clowns.

Clowns scared people and makes some laugh. Does the fact that they are covered in bright color have anything to do with it? I think so because there are a lot of reds and bright yellows, and rainbow colors everywhere on them. I think the colors overwhelm people and thats why people get scared. Clowns commonly put red around their mouths to make their smile stand out more. The colors are also in patterns all around their clothes that may have something to do with why people are afraid of them. I think people just can't handle all the color and the shapes and their minds reject that. There is also the fact that clowns are happy all the time... and that's not right either.

Wow. Color. Water.

Due to an intense and devastatingly depressing month I chose to change my project to fill glasses with different color. It still runs along the lines of our previous project, but instead of painting the picture I arranged the glasses I filled with color in an interesting manner. At first I mixed the color in the glasses and then poured water into it. After the first set of glasses I had to mix all the colors previously to adding the water because when I just tried to mix the water I just wouldn't get the desired color. I also had trouble with spilling the water and keeping the glasses clean. I wanted the pictures to look really nice and they didn't really end up that way because, well, I'm not a photographer. I wish they turned out better. After I had finished everything I looked back and thought for a second that it might have been a really dumb idea. But, well, I can't necessarily say it was a dumb idea because I met all the requirements technically, and I think it looks pretty cool so I guess it isn't that lame.I related everything to how drinking and depression and the color blue are all related.

Neon.

Jake was talking about how you make neon colors and I decided to look that up. Neon itself is a element on the periodic table. Discovered when chilled atmosphere is condensed into a liquid and it's boiled gas is neon. It was discovered in 1898 by Scottish chemist William Ramsay (1852 - 1916) and English chemist Morris W. Travers in London, England. Neon is being very rare on Earth, is only found in the Earth's atmosphere. "It is industrially produced by cryogenic fractional distillation of liquefied air."-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon the light that is given off is called neon light and is used in signs. Cool. As for neon being in paint, I couldn't find out how they do that, im sure they don't put gas in the paint, because that wouldn't work. Or would it...

COLOR

I'm not exactly sure why some natural things are the color they are. But, when you think about it enough you can figure the reasoning of most man-made things. For example, construction workers use bright neon ribbon to mark trees. They are purposefully made that color because they need to be seen from far away. The bright colors are noticeable, they are attention grabbers and that is why the workers use that specific color tape. A lot of companies use bright colors to get them to buy their products because the brightly colored product will stand out on the shelves. Some man made things are made of natural materials and so the color isn't necessarily decided, like, bricks.
